The Beautiful Henna Plant
The Moroccan henna plant, Lawsonia inermis, has been cherished for centuries for its beauty, symbolism, and unique natural benefits. In Arabic, its name reflects tenderness and purity, perfectly matching the gentle nature of the plant.
Henna thrives in warm climates—above 27°C—where the strong Moroccan sun enriches its leaves with the natural pigments that give henna its deep, vibrant color.
From March 25th to November 25th, the henna fields produce three to five bi-monthly harvests each year. Once collected, the leaves are carefully dried and finely milled into the powder used for hair care, body art, and natural dyeing.
Its blossoms release a soft, distinctive fragrance, while its leaves—when dried and powdered—produce the rich color that makes Moroccan henna so renowned around the world.
